About

Thank you for visiting aidnography

My name is Tobias Denskus and I am a Senior Lecturer in Communication for Development in theSchool of Arts and Communication at
Malmö University in Sweden. After a critical learning experience at the Peace Studies Department at the University of Bradford, I became a citizen ofAidland, working, living, listening to people and experiencing international peacebuilding in Nepal, humanitarian work in Kabul, Afghanistan and research on German peacebuilding projects in Macedonia.

I completed my PhD at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex and the wonders of transnational aid communities never cease to surprise me.

At the moment, I am working on research related to social media, communication and the ‘Open Aid’discourse.
My recent interviews with Humanosphere and Örecomm provide a good overview of the issues that currently interest me most-and why I am passionate about communication for development and social change!

There are several ways to get and stay in touch

I can be reached by good old-fashioned E-Mail at
tobias[AT]aidnography[DOT]de.

You can also find me on Twitter or find more professional and academic info on LinkedIn orAcademia.edu respectively.

Last, but not least, there is also an address for postcards, conference invitations or book review suggestions:
